River of Bones by Angela J. Townsend Review & Giveaway (Book Tour)

Hello lovelies,
So this is the next stop for  “River of Bones” book tour. There’s nothing else we can do, except welcome our talented writer in our spooky, Dracula-inspired dark corner.

I had signed up for this book tour, and I wanted so badly a copy for review, because the synopsis looked interesting.

About the book:
Title:  River of Bones
Author:  Angela J. Townsend
Published:  October 30th, 2013 by Clean Teen Publishing
Word Count:  50,000
Genre:  YA Horror
Recommended Age:  14+
When 17-year-old Dharma Moore moves to Bayou country so her scam artist mother can work as a Paranormal Investigator, she discovers more than ghosts haunt the abandoned plantation they now call home. Centuries ago, a voodoo curse was placed on the swamp waters surrounding the old plantation by a murdered slave. A terrible curse that snares Dharma. To save herself, she must face the terror of the haunted waters, find the dead woman's skull and convince the slave's soul to release her from its torments. However, there is more to this curse for Dharma personally than anyone else knows as she discovers an ancient secret that links herself to the property—a secret kept from her by her own family. To survive, she must accept the help of locals and to learn to embrace the truth—that magic is not only real, but that it can be very, very deadly!

I won’t tell anything about the story, because I want to keep the mystery hidden. As for the book, it was frightening, very frightening, and not that kind of gruesome-eww- blood frightening, but the silence-dark-not blood kind of frightening (don’t worry, neither I can understand what I just wrote)
The author is very talented, and knows how to use her words to provoke feelings and emotions. Besides the creepy, mysterious story, which you can tell it’s awesome just by the sypnosis, I liked what effect the words had on me. I hardly slept that night, and I am someone who reads “Dracula” instead of fairytales, before bed. Her writing style it was what captivated me the most. Not only it was well-written… but God, how can I explain it! It felt like I was there all the time, like I was the one being chased by the evil spirit. And when Dharma was sick, I wasn’t feeling very well either. Yes, I know that when I read, I practically feel everything the characters are feeling, because I read with passion. “River of Bones” is one of the books, I would passionately read it again and again. Dharma had the same personality like me, so it was easier for me to be in the story.
But, one thing I didn’t liked was the end, the problem was solved too quickly. I wanted more explanation, or the end scene to be described much more.
Anyways this book takes 5 stars, especially because of the writing style.

Thanks for reading my very confusing review! See you next time :D
