September's Guide To Reading

Summer is gone. All we can do now is store those warm memories full of sunny days. Now it is time for September. As the season changes, I think that even your reading experience has to change (except the genre. Read whatever you want!) Welcome to my guide to reading in this sweater weather.

Old Books- Lignin, the stuff that prevents the tree from adopting the weeping habit, is a polymer made up of units that are closely related to vanillin. When made into paper, and stored for years, it breaks and it smells good. That explain my addiction to smell old books.

Scented Candles- Find something that smells a bit spicy, like pumpkin for example. I wouldn't recommend vanilla, since we already have the old books. However, if you prefer vanilla (even though I find the scent overwhelming), you can find small candles and put them on top of coffee beans. The aroma is addicting!

Cozy Blanket, sweater, soft socks... you decide.

Rain Sound- Personally I love the rain smell. It has a musty aroma. I love reading near a window, while listening to the rain sound (Readers: " Awww.... Anila is becoming romantic"), preferably thunder too (Readers: "Forget it!"). If it isn't raining, then there is an app for that (Thank God for the technology). Currently I have Infinite Storm and Sleep Sounds in my device.

Music- I am not a big fan of music, when I am reading. (only when I'm reading or writing, because I listen to music every other second), but if you like it, go for it! I would recommend slow relaxing music, but still it depends from the book genre.

Book Genres - I started this September reading horror books, but now I am feeling a bit romantic so I decided to tone it down a little bit, and read something lighter, thriller for example (haha). Seriously now, this summer I have been reading a lot of philosophic books, and I want to continue doing so.

Hot Beverages- Autumn is all about hot drinks. If you are not a coffee drinker, then there are a lot of other beverages to choose.
Green tea is great. It helps you keep awake. You can just prepare the green tea, pour a little bit of honey, and milk (if you want). Personally, I prefer just adding slices of lemon in my green tea, no sugar, or milk.
Hot Chocolate is another option. Usually people use chocolate powder to prepare hot chocolate. Don't do that. I buy chocolate bars, that are supposed to be melted when heated. When I was in Italy *sighs* , I used to drink hot chocolate (when I was too much cappuccinated, like Roberta says). I like the hot chocolate there, because it had a creamy texture. The consistency is very rich. I hate the liquid one.

Cappuccino- Yes, I am aware that cappuccino is supposed to be a hot beverage, but it's taste is so heavenly to be compared with the others. Let me tell you the secret of cappuccino. It's just espresso coffee, and milk. There is no vanilla extract or something like that.  I love the classic flavor. Usually people love those fancy vanilla cappuccino, and stuff like that. For once just order a simple cappuccino, it will amaze you.

Have a great day!
Happy Scary Reading!
